Past
Cole is the first american woman to race solo and nonstop and unassisted around the globe. She also is the fastest person (man and woman) to race sail around the globe in a 40ft sailboat. In her previous around the world she competed against 15 other competitors; she was the only woman and the youngest by almost 10 years. Over the last 12 years of her professional career she has over 100,000 nautical miles of experience and she is mainly self taught in offshore and inshore sailing and racing.
Present
Cole is now a co-skipper of team Malizia, an international IMOCA 60 offshore race team. Competing and training in France. She is also writing a memoir based on her solo journey around the globe with flash backs to her childhood and beginnings of her professional racing career.

A six year plan towards a solo IMOCA 60 campaign while training and racing fully crewed:
